Last night, the fourteenth Startup Weekend host city—Seattle—kicked off the first day of the quest to build something new from scratch.
For those planning to attend our event on February 8th through 10th, it would be well worth paying attention to how things transpire in Seattle. The best ways to tune in are to read the Seattle blog and/or follow Startup Weekend on Twitter. The group of new founders spent yesterday getting to know their collective skills and arriving at a new idea for a company, billed as “Match.com for enterprise.”
Also, Startup Weekend announced two new weekends, in Portland (May 23-25) and Ann Arbor (June 20-22). I am particularly pleased to see another Midwest venue, and one scheduled in June. Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan, of course, which has a information technology program with many similarities to the School of Informatics at Indiana University. I have had my eye on a Chicago event, but seeing Ann Arbor with a scheduled date is more enticing.
